New Delhi [India], Aug. 18 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Wednesday that the relaunch of the North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation Limited will help popularize Northeastern products across the country.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) chaired by the Prime Minister approved a stimulus package of Rs 77.45 crore for the revival of the North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation Limited (NERAMAC), a central public section of companies under the administrative control of the Ministry of Development of the Northeast Region (MDoNER).
“The relaunch of the North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation Limited will particularly help farmers in the region and further popularize northeastern products across India,” Prime Minister Modi tweeted.
The government believes that with the implementation of the recovery plan, the remunerative price for farmers in the Northeast region will be ensured.
The stimulus package will help NERAMAC to implement various innovative plans, namely to provide better agricultural facilities, training to cluster farmers, organic seeds and fertilizers, post-harvest facilities to promote the products of NE farmers in the global market by attending events, registering IG products, etc., according to the government.
The Company’s revenues will increase and overhead costs will decrease due to the VRS and other cost reduction measures and the Company will start to earn a steady profit and its dependence on the Center loan will cease.
After the implementation of the relaunch of NERAMAC, jobs will be generated both directly and indirectly in the agricultural sector, the sector of project and event management, logistics, sorting and classification and added value. , entrepreneurship and marketing.
